Freshwave's hosting is the provision of servers and technical computer infrastructure in a secure data centre that are required for operation of any website and e mail service. This along with some technical stuff that goes on in the background makes sure your site and e mail function correctly. We have a team dedicated to ensuring the data centre runs smoothly and are there to fix things that go wrong. We are proud that our data centres only use 100% renewable energy in normal running mode.
Included in our hosting package, are daily ‘snapshot’ backups of the website, stored in the cloud. This means we can restore your site to the last backed up point, within the last 30 days, should it fail for any reason. Our other levels of service takes an offsite backup for 3 months, important for sites that trade online, and we can also monitor continuously to detect any outage the minute it occurs.
When people talk about ‘The Cloud’ your data isn’t really in a fluffy white thing somewhere. Where computing services are delivered over the internet, data and applications are stored on remote servers in data centres rather than, or as well as, on your hardware – the physical device/s you are using. Those remote data centres are ‘The Cloud’.
